#846: Frankly, My Dear

September 23, 2013

Notes from the Manager

Related Strips: #840: One Man’s Trash Is Another Man’s Treasure

Kurt and Jason were working on the Donnie Darko promo, obviously. The connection with Evil Dead, for those of you who haven’t seen Donnie Darko (or haven’t seen it recently enough) is that’s the movie Donnie sees on his date with Gretchen.

Kurt and Melissa talk more on Friday! (Don’t let the Gone with the Wind reference in the title worry you; it’s just the only thing I could think of with “Frank.” Frank is the weird bunny from Donnie Darko, whom Kurt is dressed up as.)

Today, I said goodbye to my best friend and my uncredited assistant since Multiplex began. As you may know from previous posts here, he has had some health issues for a while, and… well, the short version is, a new infection (compounded by his other issues) raised the question of the quality of his life. We had a good eighteen years.

Good night, sweet boy. I’ll miss you.

Multiplex is taking a short break.

UPDATE: Multiplex will start updating again on 2/12.
