#224: Mythic Pizza, Part One April 17, 2008

Notes from the Manager

I was running really late with this strip, so rather than give you nothin' at all, I thought I'd just toss up the first four panels for now (the rest of the panels are a little more complicated than these). Hopefully this snack is enough to tide you over for now. Between this and Monday's, it's as many panels as you usually get in a week anyway.... Check back Friday for the rest of it.

(I would just cut it in half, pretend this was a whole strip, and call the rest of it a bonus update, but I wanted part two of this two-parter to be #225. I'm anal retentive like that.)

The main reason I was running late, by the way, is that — in case you haven't noticed the site's been a bit wonky this week (particularly Monday) — I've had to look into moving the Multiplex site to a new server, for the second time in six months.… this time, to a virtual dedicated server. That will take some time, even if my brother is doing the bulk of the hard work for me, but expect some more wonkiness for the near future and possibly some downtime, or the forum getting closed temporarily.

After things get moved, though, the site should be running faster than ever. Hopefully.

Update (4/18/08): Okay, I've added on the rest of it. (If you only see the first four panels I posted on Thursday and not the whole ten-panel strip, refresh this page!)

If you're (for some bizarre reason) curious about the server situation, I've settled on Slicehost, which has a fairly do-it-yourself approach to virtual dedicated servers — which, in my case, means have-my-brother-do-it-himself, although it's not much less time-consuming for me. Ugh. I'll be glad when things get moved, but everything I've read about them says sites running on their servers run very, very fast. If you notice some weirdness here in the next few days, it's because we're moving servers.
