This looks like it could be as good or better than Rise of the Planet of the Apes (which I adore). Please be good. Please be good.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was directed by Matt Reeves, and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Aceved.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to one of the most surprisingly great* action-adventure flicks of the last several years, arrives on July 11, 2014.

Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) directs this time around, but it still looks great. I have a lot of faith in the writers (Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, returning from Rise) that this will be good.

* at least for this Planet of the Apes fan.

ParaNorman making-of featurette: “Hand-making the World”

I posted the trailer for Laika’s ParaNorman last October, and while the film still has a little way to go before its August 17th release, Focus Features has posted a making-of featurette on the official website.

I’m a huge animation nerd, and I love behind the scenes/making-of stuff, so I thought I’d post something other than a trailer or a short film just this once.
